Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Trusted-Aide IT & Cybersecurity ("we", "us", "our") handles information in connection with the CareerPocket AI product ("the Service") at app.careerpocketai.com. We are based in Singapore and comply with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).

1. What data we collect

Your career data stays locally in CareerPocket. Cloud AI requests are sent directly to your chosen provider over encrypted HTTPS; local-model requests stay on your computer. You can also back up your CareerPocket data to a folder you select.

• Inside the app: Information you enter (resume content, job listings, applications, notes, contact details, career objectives) is stored locally in your browser's IndexedDB. It does not leave your browser unless you choose to back it up to your own cloud folder (Dropbox, OneDrive, or Google Drive) that you connect.
• AI provider keys (BYOK): Your OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or other AI provider key is stored only in your browser and your chosen backup folder. We never see, transmit, or store your key.
• License keys: Your license key is stored locally in your browser and your backup folder. Validation is performed client-side.
• Free trial analytics: When you start a free trial, we record a signup event with your app version, a timestamp, your browser user agent, your IP-derived country/region from our hosting provider, and a salted hash of your IP address. We do not store the raw IP address in the trial signup record. If you optionally enter your email to receive the guides, we store that email and send the guide PDFs to it.
• Sales site: Standard web server logs (IP address, timestamp, page accessed, user agent) are collected by our hosting provider (Vercel) for operational and security purposes. We do not currently use marketing analytics or advertising trackers.

2. Payment data

Payments are processed by Stripe for direct purchases and Lemon Squeezy for affiliate or partner purchases. When you purchase access, you provide your payment details directly to the payment processor. We do not receive, store, or have access to your card details. Their own privacy practices apply to that transaction.

3. Third-party AI providers

When you use AI features, your browser sends your request (which may include parts of your resume, job descriptions, or notes) directly to the AI provider you have configured (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or a local model). Those requests are subject to that provider's own privacy policy and data handling practices. We are not a party to that transmission and do not log its contents.

4. What we do not do

• We do not operate user accounts or central user databases.
• We do not sell, share, or trade any user data.
• We do not run advertising trackers or marketing pixels on the app.
• We do not have access to the contents of your resume, applications, notes, or backups.

5. Cookies

The app uses your browser's localStorage and IndexedDB for functional purposes (saving your license key, settings, and data). These are not tracking cookies. The sales site does not currently set any non-essential cookies.

6. Your rights under the PDPA

You have the right to access, correct, or withdraw consent for any personal data we hold about you. Because the app stores your data locally on your own device, you control it directly — you can view, edit, export, or delete it at any time through the app interface or by clearing your browser data.

7. Data retention

Because data lives on your device, retention is controlled by you. If you uninstall, clear your browser, or stop using the Service, your local data is removed. Backups in your chosen cloud folder remain under your control. We retain only the standard web server logs noted above, typically for 30 days.

8. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed at individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Material changes will be highlighted on our sales site.
